The brief.
Klowt commissioned a branded podcast series: long-form interviews, multicam, with the production polish of broadcast but the workflow of podcast. The brief was for a repeatable format that could go out episode after episode without losing energy.
How I shot it.
- Multicam coverage on host, guest and wide
- Sound first: clean mic capture as the main deliverable, with the pictures cut to the audio
- Controlled lighting tuned to long-take comfort, not glamour
A filmed podcast is a different job from an interview. The audio comes first, because people listen as much as they watch, and the pictures are cut to it. Nobody stops a good conversation to go again, so host, guest and the wide all have to be covered from start to finish. And because it's a series, the set-up has to go back up the same way every time, which is what makes episode two quicker than episode one.
Delivery.
Full-length episode masters, social cutdowns and an audio-only export.
